Decorate with a rustic wood slice stand that doubles as a wood slice cake pop stand when flipped over. The wood slice slab works for a variety of party themes like on a Dessert Table, Candy Bar, Treat Table, Woodland theme Decor, Rustic Wedding Decor and the wood slice stand works well with any woodsy natural theme. We used them on the food table for a Unicorn Rainbow birthday party. Gigi wanted her rainbows and unicorns to be outside and not up in the clouds.
The natural wood slice slab is a perfect addition to your party table you can elevate the wood slice with cups, bowls, candlesticks or small logs. We used a strip of fake grass from Menard’s that was pretty realistic looking. They sell it in the carpet section and you can have them cut it as small as 12″ by however long the roll is. I wanted 18″ so it would fit down the center of a table.
Nothing fancy was used under the slabs. I turned clear glass drinking cups upside down to raise them off the table. This post contains affiliate links below. That means if you click on my link and buy something, I will earn a small commission from the advertiser at no additional cost to you.

Instructions to make wood slice stand for cake pops:
- Remove packaging from wood slice and sand any rough spots.
- Use a marker and a ruler to place dots on the wood slice.
- A drill bit similar in size to the sticks of the cake pop should be used. Slightly larger is fine, smaller is not.
- Drill the holes about an inch deep. Do not go all the way through the slice.
- Sand the openings if needed and dust of any remaining debris.
- Test the openings to make sure the sticks fit. Then you are good to go
To make the rainbow pops you dip square marshmallows in water, dry with a paper towel then dip in jello powder and stick on the stick.
The wood slice stand for cake pops can be flipped over and used as a simple wood slab or elevated. If you want to help prevent any food from staining the natural wood you can use a food grade oil to close the wood pores.
