Instructions to make a gift for an artist:
I started by choosing these three Clever Lever Embossing Flower Shaped punches from Marvy Uchida. I love them because they are unique floral shapes and emboss at the same time they punch the shape.
I also used my Jumbo Clever Lever Circle Punch for each flower center. I punched two of the same flower shapes from coordinating patterns and solids from the paper scraps.
Layer the flower shapes together and use a brad to hold the shapes together by placing in the center of the 1″ circle. Keep going until you have enough to fill a recycled jar. I used a 1 quart spaghetti sauce jar.
Use the CLEVER LEVER SILHOUETTE CRAFT PUNCH to punch a tag from a black piece of cardstock, or other color.
Use small alphabet stamps or a rub on for “flowers” on a solid piece of paper. Cut the paper to fit into the tag shape. Insert brads into the punched ends of the tag.
Glue the tag to the center of the jar, using a rubber band to hold in place until the glue sets.
Paint the lid a coodinating color. You will need to use several coats to cover any advertising printing plus a coat or two of varnish to keep the paint from chipping off the metal lid.
Finally, punch several butterfly shapes using CLEVER LEVER SILHOUETTE & EMBOSSING in this butterfly shape. I punched four from recycled vintage encyclopedia paper and glued them together in the center to create dimension.
By using recycled materials, including your patterned paper scraps, a recycled jar and your Marvy Uchida paper punches, you will have a super artist gift any crafty friend will enjoy! And this is a great way to use up those patterned paper pieces!
