DIY Glitter shoes with glitter paint are easy and inexpensive to make at home – plus you will be able to choose any color glitter or style of shoe you like. My daughter loves her sparkly shoes and I love how cheap they are to make! DIY has never looked so glitterific and my baby girl has never been happier. There are many ways to make glittery shoes and this is my DIY tutorial for making your own glitter shoes and I hope you’ll give it a try.
You can make glitter shoes smooth by using a fine glitter and sealing them with Mod Podge. If you want to keep the glitter from falling off the shoes you can also add a layer of Mod Podge on the shoes. The glitter paint and the Glitterific paint have not shed so far and my daughter has worn them a week. If they do start to shed I will add a coat of Mod Podge to them.

Instructions for great glitter shoes:
- Cover your work surface to protect from the paint and glitter. I keep cereal boxes for this purpose. Open them up and lay on the table. Then when you are finished you can recycle them.
- Base coat each section of the shoes with a fabric paint if you are using multiple colors. My daughter things the more colors the better, she is 7 after all.
- Once you have painted the base colors you want to make sure you allow the shoes to dry. the canvas shoes if you need to.
- Once the fabric paint has dried you can coat the different sections with the Glitterific and the Fabric Paint with glitter. The fabric paint with glitter needs at least two coats for the best sparkly goodness. We tried the glitter on the shoes without a fabric paint base coat and decided to redo them.
- Once you have painted all the sections and added all the glitter, allow the shoes to dry for a day or two. We have not had glitter come from the shoes. But if you do I would recommend a touch up and then coat with Mod Podge.
