Make a cute glass pineapple vase trio. This fun craft idea with paint and recycled vases makes a nice piece of home decor. Having lived in Coastal North Carolina for 7 years, the pineapple was often seen on plaques outside of hotels and fine dining establishments. The tradition of displaying a pineapple at the entry or in a reception area carried over from the hospitality industry to the refined homes of the south where the pineapple is recognized as a traditional expression of “welcome” the regal fruit symbolizes the assets we appreciate most in a home: warmth, welcome, friendship and hospitality.
Any guest who was invited to a party where a whole pineapple was displayed, knew that no expense was spared in guaranteeing the guests’ enjoyment to the high-class social event. Upon my move to Ohio I wanted to recreate the warmth and southern hospitality in my home too. For my back porch I decided to make a cute glass pineapple vase trio out of recycled glass pineapple vases from the thrift store. I found a fake fern from Ikea to use as a single decoration.

- Generously apply the creme wax finish on the vases.
- Remove excess creme wax finish with a soft cloth or paper towel.
- One the wax is dry. Tie a piece of jute cording around the neck as an accent.
We used the vases as accents for the Mermaid beach party
