Dorm room decor – desk accessories

Make dorm room decor – desk accessories out of basic office supplies.  It is really easy to do an everything you need is in the office supply section.   The featured products from Deflecto.  I was sent the pieces and asked to use my craft supplies to change them up a bit.

Supplies to make the Dorm room decor:

• Decorative tape
• hot glue
• scissors
• plastic button or flower

I wanted to do something that could change as the student changed so I used  Scotch Expressions Masking Tape.  In my mind the the project needed to be quick, easy and easy to change.  The one inch tape fit perfectly on the picture frame.

 

To make the flower on the frame.  I double the tape over so it stuck on itself.  I then cut little petal shapes out of the tape.  I hot glued them into a flower shape and then adhered the plastic flower in the center.  You could add this shape to all of the pieces if you want.

I covered the 4 drawer box and the name plate with the same tape.  I lined up the pattern on the tape so it looked like a continuous pattern.  Covering all three pieces and making the flowers took about 30 minutes. This is definitely a craft for almost anyone with any skill set.  You can purchase Deflecto at many office supply stores and on Amazon.   Use 350301 or 350301CR for the cube if you are searching on Amazon.
