When traveling, our electronics require charging and sometimes that can be a problem. Keeping the cords together and charging in a safe place are made easier with this cord keeper and outlet hanger.
This easy sew travel tech kit with cord keeper makes a great gift for a teen, tween, mom, teacher or coach.
Hang the phone holder over the power cord while charging. When not in use store the cord keeper in the pocket.

Materials
- Stiffen 6”x9”
- Stick 12”x18”
- Velcro® Brand Hook and Loop Tape 1” White Sew In 1”x3” in length
FINISHED SIZE
- 6”x9” for the hangar and 3”x7” cord Keeper (should hold all current models of phones)
NOTES
- Seam allowance is ¼”
- When working with the Stiffen I used a heavy Duty Needle and Thread.
INSTRUCTIONS for travel tech kit:
Back
- Use a ruler to draw the pattern on printer paper or directly on the stiffen.
- Trim the pattern to size and trace on Stiffen interfacing and cut out piece.
- Cut out the square in the center using a craft knife or scissors.
- Remove the center piece and make the opening as smooth as possible.
- Cut two pieces of fabric to 6.5 x9.5. Press fabric over using a ¼ seam allowance. Iron fabric to Stiffen Interfacing. The Stiffen interfacing has a fusible layer on both sides.
- Sew along edges using ⅛ .
- Cut two pieces of pocket fabric to 4.5x 6.5 Press fabric over using a ¼ seam allowance. Sew top edge using ⅛ seam allowance. If your fabric has a pattern center the pattern before cutting to size.
- Align on bottom and Sew the sides and bottom using ⅛ seam allowance
Cord Keeper
- Print the pattern pieces from the file.
- Pin the pattern piece to the fabric, as directed, and cut out all pieces.
- Press base fabric over using a ¼ seam allowance. Sew together and bottom using ⅛ seam allowance.
- Press the center trim piece fabric over using a ¼ seam allowance. Sew on base piece in the center using ⅛ seam allowance.
- Sew on the Velcro® Brand Hook and Loop Tape
