Creating simple Easter decorations does not have to take a lot of time or even skill. With the right combination of products you can make simple yet elegant eggs. This colorful trio uses 4 products including the eggs. I stocked up on the wood eggs from the clearance bin after Easter and I might have paid a dollar for a dozen of them.
Shop for blank or generic pieces after the holidays. The blank surfaces make for an easy and cheap exercise in creativity for the kids. Not only do I buy the blanks on clearance, I tend to buy basket filling, paint and glitter that the stores consider “seasonal”. I also like to buy wrapping paper after the holidays too. If you are looking for the Design Adhesives – they can be found in the stamp and ink isle of most craft stores and in many paper and scrapbooking stores. You can always try online too. 
Supplies used for the wooden egg craft:
- Jacquard Lumiere paints 571 Pearlescent Turquoise, 545 Burgundy, 542 Citrine, 546 Grape
- fine point paint brush (detail brush) and a small flat paint brush (filbert brush)
- Colorbox Design Adhesives and gold embossing powder
- heat gun
- sand paper (optional)
Instructions for the wooden egg craft:
- Sand the eggs if needed and wipe off any dust.
- Apply the Design adhesives as directed on the packaging.
- Sprinkle on gold embossing powder and tap to remove excess.
- Use the heat gun to melt the embossing powder. *Take proper safety precautions as the heat gun can burn your fingers.*
- Paint the eggs in any many you would like.
These decorative wooden eggs can be displayed year after year because I think the style is pretty classic. You could even add an egg or two inside and Easter Basket as party of the gift. Another fun idea is to paint a name on each one and use it as a name card for your place settings.
