Ceramic jewelry has such an earthy appeal. It also has an air of nostalgia. I would make it more if I had a kiln. The technique I am showing you requires polymer clay, a regular oven or a toaster oven and a few other materials. Using the technique detailed below, however, you can transform ordinary polymer clay into attractive faux ceramics.
This piece is a faux ceramic pendant, but you can also apply it to brooches, flattened beads, smaller charms, or anything else you like. It is well suited for any project that can be cured flat– particularly those with decoration on only one side– but may be adapted to work with more dimensional objects.
The material you will to make this piece are:
Cernit Clay
Pinata Alcohol Ink
A clear stamp or rubber stamp
A Pinch bail
Glaze
Stop back on Tuesday for the tutorial.
