What started out as a unwanted post from a renovation turned into something fantastic. The post was found at a Habitat For Humanity Store. The store is a great place for fining cheap pieces to upcycle. The post was maybe $3, but not more than $5. My thriftiness would not allow me to have paid more than that for the piece.
The first step in creating my project for the entry was to cut it into pieces. For that I could have used a handsaw. That would have taken to long. So, I decided to break out the big toys. The saw was a Christmas present from my dad a few years ago. NO make-up or nail polish for me.
A nice base of Krylon White to set the foundation for the next color. Sometimes when coating a dark object I like to do a layer of white first to get the truest color.
The last and final step is to add the Krylon Indoor/Outdoor color of your choice. Me, I went with Blue Ocean Breeze. It is a happy yet calming color at the same time.
If you look at this post. You can see the candlesticks in their new setting.
