Suzi Blu class project
I recently took a class with the super talented Suzi Blu. It was and awesome class and I learned so much. I could have spent a few days with her learning. Luckily I did not have to master the face. She gave us a copy of ones she had drawn and we colored them in.
I did not start out with a pretty girl in mind. But as I started creating this pretty girl took on a life of her own. I decided I was making her as a gift for a girlfriend who was in a bad relationship and found the strength to get out.
One of my pretty girl’s eye is a little bruised and her skirting is a little tattered. Yet through it all she is a beautiful person who is a survivor, not a victim.
This view shows the stenciling that is in the background. I used Crafters Workshop Stencils and Golden paint Jaquard Lumiere. I gave the whole painting a washed effect with a creamy watered down paint.
This view shows the detailing that went into her sparkly skirting. The painting is coated with a self leveling compound by Golden. Int his coating I sprinkled a glitter to give it an extra pop.
To view work by Suzi Blu you can visit her blog. She has self guided classes online. I might have to register for one of them.
