vintage decoupage holiday coasters:
- Resize images or text to desired size using photo-editing software. If using text, make sure text is flipped. Print images on computer paper using inkjet printer. Cut out images leaving 1/2″ border using scissors. Use the ruler to align images.
-
Use foam brush to coat image and tile with Mod Podge Photo Transfer Medium medium. Heavily apply the medium to the paper is fully coated. Lay image face down on tile. Use fingers or an old credit card to carefully smooth out air bubbles. Let the paper dry thoroughly; it can take 24 hours or more.
-
When dry, use small spray bottle to squirt small amounts of water onto paper. Using soft cloth or sponge, carefully and slowly rub away paper. Keep spraying and rubbing with cloth or sponge until all paper is removed, revealing image. Do not apply heavy pressure and take your time to remove all the paper bits. Allow the coasters to dry.
-
Once the coaster is dry coat the surface with gloss or matte sealer or Mod Podge and let dry. Cut four 2″ squares from cork sheet. Adhere squares onto each corner on bottom of tile using tacky glue and allow the coasters to dry completely before use.
You can tie a ribbon around them and package the decoupage holiday coasters as a gift set or use them for yourself.
