Do you have foodie on your list who thinks the hotter the better? Well, help them turn up the heat with this easy to make Super Spicy Hot Chili Infused Oil. For me, a little Hot Chili Infused Oil goes a long way, but a few of my friends like to drizzle it on everything. If I add more than a couple of drops of the oil to my serving of soup or salad I start to break out in a sweat. I wear rubber gloves when handling chili peppers. Your choice. But I play on the safe side, especially since I am just learning to appreciate the flavor of the peppers. I hope you enjoy making Hot Chili Infused Oil and that the recipient thinks it is great.
Tools and supplies for Hot Chili Infused Oil:
- Olive Oil ( enough to fill mini wine bottle- about 6 oz)
- 1 tsp Crushed Red Pepper
- 1 Dried Puya Chili Pepper
- 1 Dried Chili Pepper
- 1 dried Arbol Chili
- Funnel
- Cork
- Bottle
- Twine
- Empty mini- wine bottle
- Clay Charm (tutorial for clay charm)
- Paint for cap
- Hot Glue Gun and glue stick
Instructions for the flavored oil:
- Clean and sterilize bottles.
- Slip spices into the bottle. Use a funnel to pour in olive oil. Add the cork.
- After filling and corking bottles, wash and dry them well.
- Wrap twine around the neck of the bottle. Add polymer clay charm with Hot Glue gun and glue stick
To prolong the life of the oil, refrigerate bottles. If you are using fresh herbs and spices make sure you wash and dry them. If you are using dried spices the shelf life is 3 months. I add a label on the back of each bottle so the recipient knows what they are getting and how long it is good.
