Holiday home tour and Monogram Door Hanging tutorial
We have been in our new house for almost 6 months now. Fairhaven Lane is growing on us as we make this house our home. Our last home had a covered porch that was very fun to decorate. Fairhaven Lane has a grand entrance and making my old decorations work is a little challenging. Everything seems so small. Layering and adding multiple pieces will be the key to making this entrance welcoming. The first thing I added was the topiary tree on each side of the door. It was still empty looking so I added the monogram door hanging. The tutorial for the Monogram Door Hanger is below. I know the entrance needs more. Now to figure out what it needs. I am so open for ideas. Feel free to leave some suggestions below.
Monogram Door Hanger Supplies:
- Walnut Hollow 18″ Monogram Letter
- AdTech Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks (3 sticks used)
- Jute Cording
- Decorative Embellishements
Monogram Door Hanger Instructions:
Wrap the jute around the letter and secure with the hot glue. Start at the base of the letter and work your way up in sections adding hot glue as you go.
Wrap the middle section with one continuous strand of jute. Hot glue as you go.
Keep the jute tight by holding it taught as you wrap it around the wood letter.
Wrap the jute around the top portion of the letter and continue to add hot glue as you go.
To finish off the tops and bottoms portions of the letter wrap the jute in a coil and hot glue as you go.
Add a cluster of decorative embellishments to complete the the Monogram Door Hanger. Hot glue as you go at key points to keep the embellishments on during windy days. You can change the embellishments out for each season.
Be sure to visit the other bloggers for the Christmas in the Country Holiday edition and I hope you enjoyed my the Monogram Door Hanger tutorial. And I am totally open to ideas on what to add next.

How cute! I bet that took lots of patience. I’ve seem to do several projects this Christmas that require that. You can use this all year around!
