Please welcome Cindy Cade to 365doc. I was lucky enough to work with Cindy on a Die Cut Company’s very first design team. I think it was in 2003 or 2004. We have maintained contact throughout the years. Crafting will have that effect on you. You feel the need to stay connected to other crafty souls. There is an unwritten crafty bond.
Q. Who has made the biggest impact on your life so far, and why?
A. Jesus Christ. Then my husband. He is my calm in my crazy storms.
Q. Are you trained or self taught?
A. Self taught. Though I used to tease that I am a graduate of CDU aka Carol Duval University.
Q. One interesting fact that our readers might want to know?
A. Over the years we have adopted 4 children and fostered many more. We have kids from 37 down to 10.
Q. Do you work sitting down or standing up?
A. Designing I sit. Assembling I stand.

When I was invited to do a Friday guest segment I had to decide which category suited my interests today. Decision making isn’t my strong suit so I challenged myself to make a project that would fit them all. Here is how my Earring Frames fit:
- Green Crafting: use a recycled screen or frame or hit the dollar store!
- Home Décor: It will make a lovely accent on a wall.
- Jewelry: A nice way to see what earrings you have available.
- Occasions: A perfect gift.
- Paper Crafts: A great place to use those scrap book papers YOU are hoarding!
- Quick and Easy: My favorite kind of crafting!
The horse theme is for my “tween” who has a growing collection of earrings.

The “hugs and kisses” is for my pastor’s daughter. She will love the pink and black.
Pink and Black Earring Frame
Directions:
Measure the insert of your frame for exact size. This one is 8” by 10”
Next decide what shape you want in the center. It could be a basic cookie cutter shape or a special theme or simply use the mat that came with your frame.
I used my Pazzles Inspiration Pro to design the horse mat. The scalloped oval came from Penny Duncan Creations. She has tons of beautiful files ready to go.
Center your shapes then cut on your machine. I used my Pazzles Inspiration machine but the large size Nesties by Spellbinders would work great too. Precut all of your pieces before assembly making sure they will line up.
You may need several layers cut depending on the thickness.
Assembly:
Glue your decorative paper to a thick piece of cardstock or thin chip board then hot glue to the inside of your frame.
Hot glue the screen to the front of another layer and then glue to the inside of your frame.
Finally add at least one more layer to the back and close findings.
Add accessories and hanger as you choose. I decided to use ribbon so it could be flipped on the wall to retrieve studded earrings without taking down. I also added small felt pieces to the back to protect the wall.
