Parmesan Bacon Seasoned Crackers are easy to make. Give as a hostess gift or thank you gifts or enjoy snacking on for yourself. Mason jars and small embellishments from your crafting stash make this a budget friendly gift. If you don’t want to give them as gifts… make and enjoy immediately. They are good with soups and salads. I store mine in a mason jar for a couple of weeks. Well, not that they last that long but I would if I could. They are super tasty and you will find a great variety of flavors on this site. I make my own mix to avoid msg and other preservatives. You can use store bought if that works for you. You can also adjust the saltiness with your own recipe. My husband likes his with fresh ground pepper added.
HOMEMADE PARMESAN BACON RANCH DRESSING MIX:
2 Tbsp powdered buttermilk
2 Tbsp dried parsley
2 Tbsp grated parmesan
1 1/2 tsp dried dill
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp lemon pepper
1/4 tsp bacon salt
1/4 teaspoon lemon pepper
1/4 cup vegetable oil
( 1/4 tsp salt optional)
5 cups oyster crackers ( a standard bag from the store)
(EQUAL TO ONE PACKET OF STORE-BOUGHT)
Add each of the dried spices to a bowl and mix carefully. I hand mix with a large fork. If you want to make the dressing mix in a double batch you can store the remainder in a canning jar or zip top bag. I often triple the mix amount and also use to season chicken or pork.
Directions for parmesan bacon ranch seasoned crackers:
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, combine the spices. Add oyster crackers and olive oil and toss to coat. I use large spatulas to mix them together. Spread evenly on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, stirring gently after 10 minutes. Remove from oven, and allow to cool before serving or eating.
