The peacock candy buffet decoration mardi gras style were created for a gala that I was the chair. You might have seen a few peacock themed crafts on the site and the cool feather in my logo. I happen to love the birds and the colors or their feather. My grandmother Thelma loved them too and every time I see a live one I think of her. Volunteering was also something I learned from my grandmother. She was a very generous woman with her time and her heart.
Naturally I gravitate to peacocks and used their colors for the Kindervelt Gala. We held the event at the Anderson Pavillion in downtown Cincinnati and their interior colors have teal accents and that was a huge bonus when picking the event location. The other thing that made the site great was their carousel. I thought it was a great opportunity for our guest to really bust out and enjoy themselves.
We had a bar and a candy buffet by the carousel so they could have a drink and a little sweet treat while they were waiting for their turn to ride.
I have worked with Oriental Trading as a blogger and knew they would be my go to for reasonably priced items for this event. I hit the jackpot and stayed within my budget. We used around 200 mardi gras masks and about 1,0000 strands of mardi gras bead necklaces AND 15 pounds of candy in the gala colors to decorate the event space. Thank goodness their prices are good and their shipping is fast and more importantly you can generally get it free with orders over $50. Saving where you can really helps when you are trying to raise funds for a charity.
The candy was purchased in bulk with great colors and prices and very fresh. Their salt water taffy was a huge hit. There might have been a few men tucking an extra piece or two into their suit pockets.
