French chic and farmhouse chic designs are readily available at the big box stores and how you style them will give you different results. Neutral colors allow the farmhouse chic to blend into almost any decor style. Plus grey is a super trendy color right now.
When you are on a tight budget and moving into a new home you must learn how to repurpose items. After our 5th move, I feel like I am a pro at upcycling. I had so many items that I wanted to reuse that simply did not match the look and feel of our new home and I have learned to make my old things fit into a new space on the cheap too. Stencils and paint have been one of my go to supplies to make the old pieces new. That is exactly what I did with the Chalky finish paint, because it gives my pieces an old-world European look and feel on a small budget.
