Dr. Seuss is awesome and his books were some of my favorites and have now become staples in out home. The kids love them. This Seuss preschool craft project is a craft you can easily do together with your child. You draw the shape. Let them fill in the center and then you add the details and clean it up a little bit.
This is a super easy and very quick craft. The longest part about it is the project is waiting for the paint to dry. I used white fabric paint and white puffy paint. The bow is free-handed and cut out of Oly-Fun.
Materials and Instructions for painted Dr. Seuss t-shirt:
- Black t-shirt
- paint brush
- Tulip Brand Fabric Paint
- Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paint
- Oly-fun
- scissors
- safety pin
You can look at the pictures and get the basic idea of what to do. I used a 1/2″ paint brush to make the shape of the Cat in the Hat’s white patch and let my daughter fill it in. It was perfectly fine that is was messy. Allow paint to dry between coats. While it was drying we cut a bow out of Oly-fun. We decided that the bow should be pinned on so she could take it off for play time. If you wanted to you could use a needle and thread to sew it on or you could even use a hot glue gun to adhere it.
Add the additional paint to fill in the white patch and then add the dimensional paint to created a raised fur effect. My daughter only did a few of these and made me finish the rest. It took me 5 minutes and it would probably have taken her about 10-15.
