Great for kids of ALL ages!
To make this fun collage, gather up left over Valentine cards and Valentine papers and any items that might look good with your papers. No need to go out and purchase a ton of supplies. Use what you have. If you wanted to get extremely creative you could make your own pattern paper with stamps an ink or even paint and paintbrush.
Cut a heart out of cardboard and trace it on to a large piece of thick
cardstock or canvas paper.
Fill in the entire area OUTSIDE of the heart with tissue paper or scrapbook paper using gloss Mod Podge from Plaid Enterprises.
Once your outside is covered, add a few decorative pieces of contrasting paper to create a layered effect.
Let it dry completely (enough time to give the kids a snack)
Paint the inside of the heart with Plaid’s Apple Barrel paints. To get the streaked effect, dip your brush in white then red then pink and do one
complete stroke across the heart. Follow the same technique for all of the
strokes necessary.
While the paint dries, use a Sharpie marker and write
“You Make My Heart Sing” on white cardstock then cut the words apart.
Cut a strip of a page from a music book that will cross your heart with a bit of extra on each side.
Use the Mod Podge to attach your music paper and then your words on top if
the paper.
MAKES a great placemat and a super fun piece of wall art.
La la la la la….you make my heart sing!
